Blast! Camp - 9 Dec 2008, Tuesday -

As 15th December draws closer by the second, there’s a rush of adrenaline hitting us with excitement and enthusiasm. We recall previous years’ of fun, laughter and joy, as well as sweat and tears, unfold before our eyes. It’s almost as if we were there in the heat of the action again. For the young ones who just joined us, you’re definitely in for a wild time!

Blast camp last year is something I would try to describe in words, but nothing can so feebly achieve the effect that it had on all of us. Firstly, the unique ice-breaker games certainly brought the icy glass walls crashing to the ground with our thunderous laughter. Remember the ‘brown’ colour we associated with our dear ‘rose’, or the impromptu skit put up by Izacc, Clarice and  YingHuan. Yea…that was entertaining!

Then came all the masterclasses, that provided both exposure to new dance forms like Jazz, Lindy Hop as well as grounding us deeper in Lyrical hip hop, popping and whacking. It definitely came in helpful when we used what we had just learnt in our mini-competition at the end of the camp. That was a wreck, choreographing in what little time we had, deprived of sleep to present our very best products to the judges. It was well worth it when the ultimate end-product was comedic, sexy and had loads of creativity. There is no doubt this year’s would also be bursting with new energy and breakthroughs.

Besides dance, we also had our fair share of bonding and fun through the Sentosa Beach Games and Night Games. The interaction we had together was invaluable as it sparked deeper relationships forged between the juniors, seniors and even our alumnus. These friendships carried through to the recent Dance Reflections, which is also part of the reason why it was a success.

*breathe* That’s a gush of memory flowing back! But there is every reason to believe that this year’s camp will also rock the house as we bring back some elements from camps of before.

Be prepared to be BLAST-ed away!
